About Me

My photo
Hello! I'm a first time boston terrier owner and our little Meatball will be going on lots of fun adventures with this active family! I'm a teacher, wife, and mother of a smartie pants little girl. I love working out, taking pictures, reading, scrapbooking, crafting, trying out new restaurants and exploring the outdoors with my family. I'm in love with Meatball and love making memories with him. I hope to learn more about Boston terriers and interesting places to connect with other fun loving people.

At The Flea

Patio at Westport Flea Market
Meatball's latest adventure was a sunny afternoon down at the Westport Flea Market in midtown Kansas City. We didn't spend much time at the flea market stands but we enjoyed a fabulous burger and curly fries on the patio. Buyer beware: cash only and according to the employees the owners have no intentions of changing that! --hmmm??…. after eating great burgers we walked to Andy's frozen custard. Wow, it was much better than what we expected! Very fresh and yummy. I had a snow monster concrete which is vanilla custard with these big chunks of strawberries mixed in with melted chocolate chip pieces- heavenly! Meatball got a couple licks as we enjoyed our treats on their nice patio.

The hamburger truck!

No hump day!

Well no hump day here…at least we hope neutering will stop the humping! My little meatball just got neutered. He did a great job thanks to our great vet, Dr. Campbell. The hardest part was not feeding him breakfast before his procedure and collecting stool samples to bring in to get checked. I sure did miss him on his overnight stay at the vet. He is in the clear- no worms and up to date on his shots! He's growing so fast and getting bigger everyday. He weighed in at 8 pounds and will be 4 months old next week! Now I just need to deal with the potty training, nipping at his human big sister and listening even when I'm not holding a treat!
My big boy, maybe full grown size 12 pounds?
Just a few stitches and he's really not even noticed.

State Parks Rock!

Omaha Nebraska about 25 minutes from the Zoo
We visited Mahoney State Park in Omaha Nebraska this weekend with the RV and it was awesome! Meatball enjoyed running around eating miscellanous things from the grass and chasing his human big sister around. The weather was cloudy but just enough sunshine. The state park is very clean and dog/kid friendly. We met other families and puppies there enjoying the weekend at Mahoney Park. There are bike/walking trails, playgrounds, mini golf, horse back riding and many other activities. The campground host was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed(even gave our little Lulu a park ranger sticker!) We will be back soon! If you're ever around the midwest Nebraska area stop here for a visit.

Meatball's family went to explore the Henry Doorly Zoo and he went to make friends at Downtown Hound. He had a blast in doggie day care playing with his maltese friend Zeke. The doggie daycare facility is very clean and the staff really pays attention to each pet. The prices are great too! Of course Meatball walked around Old Market in downtown Omaha which is dog friendly out on the patio's of most restaurants and shops. There we found the dog friendly gift toy store-- Le Wonderment which has unique gifts for kids and dogs. We met the Secher family, owners of Howlin Hounds Coffee. They are no longer dog friendly…boo health department! but were very friendly to serve us great coffee.
What an amazing zoo! The orangutans and gorillas were our favorite.
